MISSION Act 1

Training
Nobody knows when or how the Collective came into being. All the records regarding the history of the Collective were either destroyed or missing during the wars. The Collective only know that they have been constantly moving from a place to another. Unable to reproduce themselves, they need organic bodies to keep themselves alive. Hence, they will raid into other races’ territories and assimilate the people and ships when their supply of new bodies runs out.

The Collective came to the Orion Star Systems centuries ago. However, the Collective have finally met their match. They came to this galaxy in force but the combined might of the armies have put a halt in their expansion. As the Collective are pushed back and their populations are dying due to war, they retreated to a corner of the galaxy and made their stand. They fight furiously and soon the war comes to a standstill. In the end, the armies of Orion Star Systems retreat as another threat arises. Since then, the Collective have been struggling to survive as the supply of new bodies is dwindling.

Now, the Collective have regained their former strength. It is time for expansion once again. After residing in this galaxy for centuries, the Overminds have gleaned as much knowledge as possible from the new bodies. They have learnt their lessons. Now, they will adapt a new strategy; that is you.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 1  
Background

When you first opened your eyes, knowledge of who you are and your duties start to flow into your mind. You are a new-born Overmind. Once you get used to this new and yet strangely familiar body, you move out at once. You have no idea where you are going but your feet seem to know where to go. As you go, a weird feeling comes over you as your mind continues to drink in your surrounding. Your mind runs as if you have not been thinking for a long time. You have no recollection of your own history nor does it matter.

All these thoughts are banished from your mind once you reach the court room. Within the room, you can see a row of half-organic and half-robotic beings sitting high above in a semi-circle. You walk to the middle of the room and stand erect. A thought comes to you that you are now being examined. You can find some pressure in your mind but you let them probe. The Board of Overminds is satisfied with the results.

Then, a rather large Overmind stands up and addresses you. “My child, today is the beginning of a new age. Today is the day where we, the Collective will not sit idle any longer, but go forth and bring our conquering army into the wild space beyond. We have been gathering information regarding the wicked aliens out there for centuries. Now is the time for us to go forth and bring them into submission for us, the Collective are the masters of the world.”

Afterwards, you receive further instructions from the board of Overmind through telepathy. As you are still inexperienced, they decide to let you take control of the new colony at the border of the galaxy. You will learn basic governing as you carry on with your duty.

As Collectives consume organic food to generate energy, you will need to have a good supply of food. With the advance agriculture technology developed by the Collective, you can produce a larger amount of food compared to other races.

Go to Economy > Manage Planets
Click on Assign Planets
Enter 500 units in Agriculture
Your food generation would have increased after this. You can observe this every time you use a turn.

Mission 1 : Setting up your empire  
With the production of food underway, your population will never starve. They are the backbone of your empire. Treat them well, and never forget to provide them with enough food. The extra food you have can be sold to the market later when it is enabled. You are not prepared to meet other empires yet.

Missions:  Act 1 > Mission 2  
Background
As you are mentally receiving reports from your underlings, a message comes from the starport that a Collective ship is approaching. The Overlord who will be your advisor has finally arrived. After you are done giving the final orders, you move to starport to meet the Overlord. For the time being, he is being stored in a life-sustaining capsule while awaiting you to establish a link.

Overlords are Collective who are selected for their intelligence and given partial freedom to think. They are created to assist the Overminds in various fields. However, they are still linked to an Overmind and like other Collective, they cannot survive without the link.

Once you reach the room where the capsule is temporarily placed, you put the connector from the capsule to the slot at the back of your neck. The link is established and once you put in the command code, the Overlord awakes and comes out of the capsule. Immediately, you send in the data of the current progress of your empire to the Overlord and instructs him to oversee the researching department to increase the production of food.
Objective
Obtain level 5 in Agriculture Infrastructure Research.

To perform this, go to
Science > Research > Agriculture
Then enter the amount of time (turns) you wish to spend on it.
Tip
The more agriculture levels you have, the higher your food and raw material production becomes.
The number of turns required will go up after each time you complete an infrastructure research

Mission 2 : Agriculture Research  
The improvement in infrastructure has increased multifold the production of food in your empire. Bear in mind that with each increase in the infrastructure level, it is harder to decode the blueprints for the next level. Hence, more time will be taken to completely decode the next level of infrastructure.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 3  
Background

Undoubtedly as your empire begins to grow in size, the cost of governing also begins to increase. More and more equipment are bought to increase the efficiency and strengthen your empire. Lots of money have been used up for the needs in various sectors of your empire. You are alarmed by the rate of the upkeep of everything.

In order to secure the future of your empire, you have to find a way to gain money. This is against the need that should any emergency occur, you will not go bankrupt. Bankruptcy of your empire might spell the end of your budding empire. You do not wish to fail your predecessors who have sacrificed a lot to reach this point. Without wasting another moment, you order your underlings to stockpile the amount of food needed.

Assign all free planets to agriculture to increase your food generation. Time stands still if you don't do anything. To kill 2 birds with one stone, spend time to increase your agriculture research.

You have done well. The Board of Overminds has opened up the Intergalactic Market for you. You can sell the extra food there for credits.

Warning
All empires with Pr (Power Rating) below 5,000 will be under protection. Exploring new planets will increase your Pr. Each new planet will increase your Pr by 50 points. If your Pr goes above the 5,000 Pr mark, other empires can attack you. Therefore try to remain under 5,000 Pr or if you should wish to go out of that, ensure you have research more powerful ships and prepare some form of defense. Also remember that ships cost $$ to maintain and they too increase your Pr.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 4  
Background
After you have submitted the report of your current development to the Board of Overminds, you detect a sense of approval. The organic part of your mind sends a feeling of pride on your achievement. The mechanical part of your system detects the chemistry in the brain and sends a signal to suppress the feeling. As the old Collective saying goes, pride is the cause of the downfall of the body.

Pushing aside all thoughts, you begin to make plans for your next move. With the new options available, you decide that you should expand your colony. You will need to find more planets in order to increase the food production and supply of new bodies.

Objective
Obtain 1,500 planets

Step by Step guide
Go to Military > Fleet > Shipyard

Build r class ships. Go to Military > Fleet > Explore. Put in the amount of turns (time) that you wish to explore.

Warning
Always disband all your Ships after you use them by going to
Military > Fleet > Enter amount to disband then click on disband

Also check your income by clicking on `Income`, ensure that you have enough credit reserve to maintain your fleet.
Do not deplete or finish your credit reserves. If your credit reserves is depleted you will go into debt. Going into debt is something which you must never do or your empire may go bankrupt and you will have to restart again.

Warning
Try not to have beyond the 2000 planets, as you are not yet ready to defend your empire.

Mission 4 : Exploration  
Your success has shown that your ability to grasp new concepts is exceptional. It has merely been a few months since your awakening and you are learning very fast. The Board of Overminds have sent more equipment and blueprints for you.

Market is a place where you can buy and sell resources from food to minerals. Minerals are used to build certain types of ships.

Since your empire cannot make income efficiently, the Collective's best money making place will be the market where Collective can sell off the food produced and exchange for more credits.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 5  
Background
From the previous act, you have reserved a small amount of food. By selling these food at the market, you need not fear of bankruptcy. Now that the Intergalactic Market is open for your usage, you can sell your food there to other empires and earn money. This is the best income for Collective as you have advance technology in Agriculture.

With the money reserves, you can draw money when there is an emergency. Bankruptcy is not something you want to happen to your empire now.

Go to
Economy > Market
Click on food, type the amount of food you wish to sell and the price that you wish to sell them for.
Tip
You can sell the food at a price equal or slightly lower than current market price to ensure sale.

Mission 5 : Cash reserve  
The amount of credits you gather will be able to support your empire for the moment. You have to ensure that you do not go into debt for if you go too far into debt, your empire will die and you have to restart all over again. Food is your asset. Whenever you have trouble with credits, you can always sell extra food in the market for money.

Economy > Housing

You can now build more housing and increase the total population of your empire. Although citizens or population may be annoying at times however you can’t do without them. However later on in the game (round Act 2 or 3) you may wish to increase your population. The total number of your population and the population of all your vassals determines your empire level. You can use more powerful projects and features according to your empire level.

Economy > Increase Population
To increase your population, you need to attract new people to your empire by holding residency campaigns. This is to encourage immigrants to reside in your empire.

New Demand
Your population now demands for food. Ensure you have food to feed your population. If your population doesn’t get enough food from now on, then income for all your planets is reduced by 80%!

Background
Transmission received:
We have been closely monitoring your progress and we are pleased with your achievement so far. Your act of gathering credits and food will secure the future of your empire. You have done well.

After conferring, we decide that you need to speed up your process, for some of the aliens’ ships have come closer to your hidden base. In case that they unexpectedly stumble upon you, we decide to transfer the military equipment to you immediately. While waiting for the equipment and information to arrive, we advise you to start recruiting an army to man your fighting ships. You must not fail us.

Objective
Have 100 population.

Step by Step guide
First you need to build more housing by
Economy > Assign Planets > Increase housing to 10

If you don’t have enough free planets, free up planets by
Economy > Free Planets > Choose some planets to be freed

Then increase your population by
Economy > Population > Enter turns until your population grows to 100

Warning
Always have sufficient food to support your population. If you do not have enough food to support your population you will earn 80% less income.

If you wish, you can invade other empires for additional new planets. If you are coming out of protection ensure that you have some form of defense ready.

Loyalty drops slightly as your population grows.

Mission 6 : Acquiring new vessels  
You can now recruit your population to man your war ships. With more people, you can increase your income too for your population will pay you taxes. Little though it might seems but it is an income nevertheless.
However, make sure you that you always have enough food to feed them or they will not have enough energy to do any work at all.

Your scientists have developed a new communication systems which enables you to locate and determine how powerful all other empires are. This is a useful feature later on as you will have to know how powerful (rated in Pr) other empires are, so you will know who to attack.

Missions:  Act 1 > Mission 7  
Background
The sensor equipment allows you to detect should any unidentified ships enter your empire. So far, you have detected a few unknown ships that have approached distressingly near your border. The production of your ships has been going on slowly as your recruits are being trained. After conferring with the Overlords under your command, you reach the conclusion to speed up and increase the production of the ships.

At the moment your army is not even big enough to stand against a medium-sized force. For the lack of a scout ship, you are unable to come close upon your enemy without the risk of being detected. Hence, in order to increase the ship production, a larger amount of money is needed.
Objective
Obtain 5,000,000 credits.
Reminder
Credits can be increased by
1. Increasing the number of commercial planets
2. Increasing the commercial research
3. Selling resources on the market
Warning
If you wish to sell resources on the market, ensure that you have sufficient resources. For example don’t sell all your food until your own population starves, then you may have to buy back from the market at a higher price.
Tip:
Try spending some time researching as time will pass by and your credit reserves will grow.
Also try to disband all ships (if you are under 5,000 Pr) so you will not have to pay for your ship upkeep therefore will have more income for your empire.

Mission 7 : Funds for your military  
The amount of credits should allow you to build a modest-size fleet.
With this fleet, you can withhold up to any medium-size force and maybe even repel them. However, you hope that this is not a full scale invasion.

Short for intelligence, this collects and shows you the information about this particular empire. This includes information such as how powerful this empire is, which federation (Clan) this empire belongs to, and the statistics. Statistics allows you to guess what type of empire this is, and how experienced it is from the number of battles this empire has already fought and how old this empire is.
Military > Battle Records
This feature allows you to check all your previous battles
Military > Fleet > Attack
If you wish to launch a military campaign you need to use this feature. You can launch raids or invasions on other empires.
Military > Fleet > Outpost
You can assign ships into `Outpost` if you are part of a Federation (Clan) or if you have a Lord. All ships here will be sent as reinforcements to assist your Federation member or Lord if they are attacked. Note that ships here will not be able to assist you if you are under attack yourself.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 8  
Background
With the amount of credits available, the production of the ships can now be undertaken. However, more and more activities of the alien ships have been detected. You are worried that your empire has been discovered and your enemy is getting into position for an invasion. You have already set up some defense at the perimeter for your empire but you really doubt they can hold for long.

You have tried to request for reinforcement but are denied. The Board of Overminds decides that this will be the perfect test for you. In order to survive in this harsh world, you will have to learn how to endure all types of difficulties. Being a Collective and an Overmind yourself, young though you are, you do not question their wisdom and prepare yourself for the worst.

Have 25,000 Pr 
Warning
The higher the Pr you are, the more powerful your neighbors are. Also expect them to be hostile. 
Tip
You can temporarily increase your Pr by building more ships than you can maintain, causing you to have a negative income. Ensure you have sufficient credit reserves before attempting this, if you run out of credits you will go into debt and may risk making your empire bankrupt. If your empire can't pay off the debt then you will have to restart (Option > Restart).

Mission 8 : Preparing your defense  
The defense at the perimeter of your border has been set up. Anyone barging into your empire will be detected immediately and the defense at the border should be able to take down any light forces. Feeling slightly better, you set down to wait.

You can increase the loyalty of your population. If your loyalty is too low then they may be subjected to sabotage or revolts.

Some ships may require minerals to build. Mining allows you to mine for minerals to use.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 9  
Background
Your fleet is finally ready, but there is still no sign of any attack from the aliens. After waiting for many days, you are puzzled. Leading the fleet aboard your flagship, you set out to the border of your empire. Once you go beyond the border, you discover wreckage of ships littering everywhere. It is as if a major battle happened just outside your empire. You are sure that your empire has not been discovered yet. After sending a command back to the headquarters, your fleet stumbles upon a small squadron of fighters.

A short but fierce fight broke out. All the ships are destroyed but you manage to capture one prisoner. At once you interrogate the prisoner and find out that they are deserters from a major battle. Their side has been losing and instead of fighting till the end, they have run away. Disgusted by his disloyalty, you execute him immediately.

Suspecting there are more deserters out there, you set out to explore the area. After all, if they group together, they might pose a threat to your empire. It is easier to eliminate them in small groups than one big group. Search and destroy the deserters in the unexplored area outside your border.

Tip
The difficulty of finding new planets grows according to the total number of planets you have. Initially it may be easy to explore for new planets however later on in the game you will be required to invade other empires to increase your planets.

Mission 9 : Securing your borders  
You feel safe now that the threat has been eliminated. Small and weak though the forces are, you dare not imagine what would happen if they band together and invade your young empire. Breathing a sigh of relief, the new planets are in your control now.

This feature allows you to join a Federation. Once you join a federation you will be part of that family. Members of federation can’t attack one another, but can offer assistance in terms of resource as well as reinforcements for defense. Choose federation carefully as not all federations are active.

Background
Transmission received:
Congratulations on your success in eliminating the deserters. Deserters and traitors are an abomination to the Collective. They are not even worth assimilation for they might taint our race. We have faith in you that you will be able to overcome this ordeal. Now, you have completed your training and are ready to embark on our mission that is set before your birth.

Beyond the asteroids which mark the border of Collective’s holding is the world where many races reside including those of the deserters. And that is our destination. Your mission is to gain a foothold in the galaxy and prepare for our army to go through. This time, we will assimilate the whole galaxy for our own.

Without hesitation, you make the necessary preparation to enter this wild world. You know that you will be on your own, for the few others who are created together with you will be sent to different corners of the galaxy. Hence, you gather together your Overlords and give them instructions. You have learnt that by selling food in the Intergalactic Market, you will gain a decent income.

Mission 10 : Self-sufficient  
Food is an important asset for the Collective empire. Not only does your population need them, food can is also the main source of income for the Collective.

You have built extra food storage facilities to help you store larger amounts of food. From now on, you will have to learn to be independent as you venture out into the wild world out there.

You can now create new systems. It cost planets to create new systems. However, certain systems perform better at certain things compared to others, such as the Farm System which performs 200% better compared to your Sol system when it comes to agriculture.

You can dig for artifacts on systems. Artifacts have various effects like giving or reducing an empire’s resources. You can also opt to build the capsule lab. The capsule allows you to fuse together a handful of artifacts, giving you a more powerful artifact.

Missions: Act 1 > Mission 11  
Background
You remember an older Overmind, Kain, has given you a piece of advice before you leave for your empire. As Collective have no way to reproduce themselves, they depend on other organic races to get new bodies. Even though the Collective can live for a long time due to the mechanical parts of their body, they are hard to replace once they die if there is no supply of body available. The Collective have learnt this the hard way centuries ago.

As a preparation before stepping out into the ruthless world out there, he advises you to take as many organic bodies as you can. You will need them once you go out there. Your population will ensure your empire running and man your war machine. Without them, your empire will be lost. Always remember to get new bodies along the way.

Mission 11 : The Election  
As you close your eyes, you can almost see the link from all your populations and soldiers connected to your brain. They are all under your command. They are all loyal to you. With them, you shall complete the mission given to you. They shall be the source of your strength.

Your eyes opened and determination shown forth. You are the new generation of Collective. You will go forth and bring the whole world to join you, the Collective.

Missions:Act 2  

Act 2: Stepping into the wild
For the first time in centuries, the Collective ventures out in force. Before this, the Overminds occasionally lead a raid into nearby empires to capture new hosts for assimilation. These activities are usually conducted in stealth as they do not want to draw attention upon themselves.

Once again, the Collective will go forth and make this world their own. They will assimilate every race in this galaxy and merge them into one race; the Collective. They have learnt that barging into the empires and attacking everyone will not succeed in this galaxy. Despite the constant fighting among themselves, these aliens are willing to put aside their difference and face any danger as one. Hence, the Board of Overminds has sent you and a few other Overminds to different corners of the galaxy to set up a foothold. One day, all the races in the world will be submitted to the Collective.

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 1  
Background
Your empire is strategically-placed in a more isolated area. Here, you can safely expand your empire to a considerable size. There are a few small colonies in the area but they will not pose much threat to you at the moment. However, to be safe, you should keep an eye on them in case they band up together and go against you. If you are not careful, these small colonies alone might prove to be your undoing.

Remembering the incident of the deserters, you agree with the Overlords that a spy network should be set up so that you can spy upon other empires and it will help you to determine which empire is ripe for taking. It will also help you to keep track of the happenings in the galaxy and make suitable adjustments.

Mission 1 : Spy Network  
The Recon Center is now available to you. You can use this center to spy upon other empires and check on their statistics. Now, you have the access to the information of other empires. You can keep track of their progress and be prepared should anything occur.

You are satisfied with the work of your scientists. You send a note of approval through the mental link and all your population can sense your satisfaction.

The loyalty of your population increases by 50 in all your systems!

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 2  
Background
You order the spy network to conduct an operation in order to gather information of some nearby empires. You want to know how their military forces stand against yours. Soon, initial reports of the operation are coming back to your headquarters. You gather the Overlords and go through the reports. Your spies are doing a good job of gathering information.

With the estimated strength for most of the military forces in the area in hand, you decide to discuss with Overlord Malik, the general of your army. Between the two of you, you come up with a strategy that is at par with your current economy status.

Mission 2 : Information access  
You deploy your ships throughout your empire and build extra shipyards in each system. This is to enable your systems to build more ships to defend your planets. You must be keep an eye on other empires and be up-to-date with their status to be effectively defend yourself.

However, be careful not to build more ships than your economy can handle for then you risk going into bankruptcy. Always have extra food so that you can sell in the market for more money.

Some outer planets have pleaded to join your empire after seeing the might of your fleet. They hope to gain protection from you in exchange for their service.

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 3  
Background
It is just another day in your empire when a sudden signal alerts to a transport ship escorted by five destroyers are approaching your empire. They are identified as Collective ships and approaching your empire at a leisurely pace. Then, a transmission is received from the ships. The screen in the observation room flickers on to show the weathered face of the old Overmind, Kain.

“Ah, my child. Please forgive me for my unannounced visit. I am taking a break and decide to pay you a visit to see how your empire is going. Based on how fast your radar picks up our signal, it seems that your empire is progressing nicely just as I have predicted. We will continue when we meet later.”

When the screen flickers off, your face is set in what can only be call as an amused expression, if a cyborg is capable of the expression. Overmind Kain has been almost been fatherly towards you ever since you gain your awareness. He has often offers you advice and has personally taken upon himself to instruct you upon the basics of governing. He is one of the eldest of the Collective and is well-respected. Knowing that you will reach no conclusion as to the objective of his visit, you decide to prepare a grand welcoming feast for his arrival.

Mission 3 : Unexpected visit  
You are proud of your underlings for they work with extraordinary efficiency. Even though it is mere hours before Overlord Kain's arrival, they managed to get everything set up in time. Not only has the food been prepared, the main hall has been converted into a feasting hall in just an hour.

As a reward for their efforts, you allow all of them to join in the feast. Even though they cannot think on their own, they still enjoy a respite. You have long discovered that by giving them rewards and celebration once in a while, this will keep their morale high and the efficiency also increases.

The loyalty of your population increases by 200 in all your systems!

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 4  
Background
As soon as Overmind Kain’s ships are docked at the starport, you with the welcoming party escort him to the main hall where the feast is waiting for him. A variety of organic foods line the long tables, each equally tempting and mouthwatering. You lead Overmind Kain to the place designated for him at the center of the main table. Then, he sends you a signal of approval and you can sense that he is pleased with the preparation. Sending out a mental order, the feast commences earnestly and the few servants start to laden your plate with food.

When the feast has finally ended, you and Overmind Kain retire to the guest room. He inquires your well-being and the progress that you are making. You explain to him the operation conducted by your spies to determine the strength of the nearby empires and your plan of action. He listens and then offers you a few words of advice. After exchanging thoughts for a few hours, Overmind Kain decides to retire to his room as the journey has been long and his mind demands rest.

Soon, you are heading back to your office pondering the advice. In order to be able to stand on your own, you will need to have a better income. That is where infrastructure upgrades come into play. He recommends you to focus more on research so that you can increase your income without increasing the size of your empire.

Mission 4 : The feast  
It has taken a considerable amount of time to complete the upgrading of the infrastructure level. Nevertheless, the efforts are well worth it and you can see the significant increase in the production. You are notified by the research department that they have found a hidden code within one of the blueprints. It contains a formula to construct certain artifacts. However, they only managed to produce a small amount of these artifacts before the blueprint self-destructed.

Background
As usual, you are in the administration chamber and confer with the Overlords about the needs of your empire. There are some minor problems that occurred but nothing that the Overlords cannot solve. The meeting is blessedly short. At the end of the discussion, you receive a mental note from Overmind Kain. He invites you to join him for a hunt.

Hunting has always been a Collective’s favorite past time even though you did not pick up the habit. Instead of hunting some animals that might have been hiding within the planet somewhere, Collective hunts for ships. They will go out in a small but stealthy group and hunt for an enemy ship. Once enemy ships have been detected, they will stalk him until opportunity arises. As soon as the chance presents itself, they will assimilate the ship and escape without being detected.

You have never taken a keen interest in hunting for governing your own empire in an alien domain is more than enough for you. But it is considered close to an insult if you decline to join in the hunt unless you have some emergency matters that you need to attend to. As it might take a while for you to go on the hunt and back, you quickly give out instructions to your underlings. The first task is to gather sufficient Terran Metals to improve the existing radar.

Mission 5 : Hunting game  
You have been stalking the Terran scout for the better part of a day. For some reason the ship has left its group and is traveling alone. You suspect that it is damaged and on its way back to headquarters for repair. Little does it suspect that it is being followed. By the time the pilot realized your presence, it is already too late and within seconds, the ship disappears together with your ships.

You have never had so much fun before. At the end of the day, the hunting party has assimilated a total of 100 Terran scout ships. These ships are included into your exploration fleet as a gift from Overmind Kain. You are both surprised and pleased with the generous act.

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 6  
Background
After you have returned from the hunt, Overmind Kain reveals that he has something important that he wishes to share with you. However, this secret is to be between the two of you. There can never be another to learn about it. You are puzzled by his behavior. As an Overmind, you know that Overminds need to stay together always, for unity is what holds the Collective together. In order to prevent disloyalty, the Overminds have created the link between them and their underlings. Those with a slightest hint of revolt in his mind will be cut off from the Overmind together with the life support system within the body.

Nevertheless, Overmind Kain has helped you out in the past and you respected him for his wisdom. He must have his own reason for doing so.

“My young Overmind, I’ve seen you grow and learn at an amazing speed. You have been cautious and humble where many were brash and proud. This is what put you into the position you are today. And I also believe that you have great potential within you. It might be you who will lead the Collective on and complete our mission to assimilate all organic life forms in this galaxy.

Here is something that is not known to many Overminds, for the older Overminds fear the younger Overminds might be disturbed and break away from us if they learn of this secret. But in you I have faith. It is suspected that we once originated from this galaxy hence explaining why we failed to assimilate them. These aliens might have weapons and ships more advanced than us. As we, the Board of Overminds are old and our presence is vital in our current base, we have no means to solve this puzzle.

However, today I choose to reveal this secret to you, for I hope that you can help us unravel this mystery. According to a myth, our ancestors have built an extraordinary artifact which is so powerful that it can assimilate any ships. However, more information of this relic is unknown, except that it is hidden somewhere in the Collective’s original homeworld. I hope you can keep your eyes open and inform us once you discover this great artifact.”

This really gives you something to ponder upon. In the meantime, some emergency has occurred in the main base. You decide to gather some precious minerals that are abundant in here as a parting gift for him.

As you hand over the large chest box containing the Red Crystal minerals, Overmind Kain also hands you a smaller box. He instructs you to open the box only when you are alone. You salute him as his ships leave and speed off into space.

My dear child, these artifacts are called Minor Barrera. When used, they will create a barrier over your empire, temporary preventing any artifact attacks. I hope it will be of use to you.

Background

The truth revealed by Overmind Kain has been playing in your mind for days. For the first time since you gained the awareness that you feel doubt. You doubt neither the truth nor the sincerity of Overmind Kain, but you doubt that you yourself are up to it. You are afraid that you might be influenced just the same by the discovery if you found the relic as Overmind Kain said.

Nevertheless, the logic of your mind has long reached the conclusion that you cannot resist not to investigate this matter. You have just been delaying and trying to argue vainly with yourself. Finally, you give in. You know that you will never rest until you find out the truth about this, or at least started to look for something. Mentally calling Overlord Lahan, you order him to gather any materials that he can get his hands on regarding this myth. You will provide him with any fund that he needs.

After a thorough calculation, this project you undertake might take a long time to complete. Resigning to wait, you turn your mind elsewhere.

Background

Not long afterwards, Overlord Lahan informs you that he has gathered a group of achievers who specializes in translating and extracting information. He has also set up a network to get hold of any sources that is related to the Collective. With these preparations, you are positive that the efforts will bear fruits. You do not wish to disappoint Overmind Kain and all his hopes in you.

Fearing that this sudden movement might attract notice from the empires around you, it is wise to secure the defense at your border. If you put up a strong front to them, they might not dare to invade your empire and leave you alone. But with these aliens, who can say? They are more aggressive than you have expected. You begin to make plans for defense and deploy some ships to the strategic points for defense. It is time to increase your defense again.

Mission 8 : Precaution  
Just as your final defense is in place, a skirmish force from your enemy appears. Without a second thought, your forces crush them. This will give them a momentary pause and hopefully, they will not bring a larger force along.

Now, the operation can proceed without disturbance. Every night you ponder upon the problem. Sometimes, in your dreams, you can almost see yourself holding an ancient weapon that has the power to bring the whole galaxy down. Then you will return to your community as the victor.

Missions: Act 2 > Mission 9  
Background
Finally, Overlord Lahan notifies you that he has successfully gathered a large number of materials that contain some information regarding the history of the Collective. Some of them look suspiciously like copies from the libraries of the Collective’s base, but you choose not to question. After all, you asked them to get their hands on the materials regardless the source. Some of them dated a couple of decades back while others dated a few centuries up to the time when the Collective was invading this galaxy.

Overlord Lahan says that there are more records coming in but these should be enough to get the work started. You send him a sense of approval and pleased with his job. You order the achievers to start translating and try to set up an archive in the basement of your command center. It will not be easily infiltrated by spies.

Anticipating that the cost of the operation will increase once they have discovered something among all the recordings, you must increase the income of your empire to support the movement. Giving the task to Overlord Malek, you command him to lead the fleet to assimilate the nearby planets. With more planets in your empire, you can increase the productivity.

As the other empires begin to take notice of you, it is not easy for you to gain more planets. The more you have, the harder it is for you find new planets. Nevertheless, you swear that one day, yours will be a great empire even among the Collective. You are ambitious, but not proud. Immediately, you assign the planets to their respective work.

Background
A message from the spy department:

Overmind, we have discovered a way for us to cause disruption and riots in other empires especially those with low loyalty. By setting up the Sabotage Center, we can send spies into an empire and wreak havoc. If we can get their loyalty low enough, we can even flame them into revolt and boycott working. Hence, your enemy will have a hard time getting any income.

However, in order for us to obtain this Sabotage Center and operate it, we need approval from the Board of Overminds. Their minimum requirement for an empire to obtain this facility is to have Empire level of 7. In tandem with your efforts to locate and gather more records, we can help you obtain more materials via this project.

Background
Days passed by without any reports of discovery. You are getting impatient in waiting for the answer. However, you know that there is nothing you can do but to wait. Being idle is not the nature of the Collective. The only time you find a Collective not working is when they are either resting or dead. Otherwise, the Collective will always be doing something be it great or small.

Thus, instead of waiting idly in your office, you decide to go to the shipyard. You would like to see how the newest production of ships is going. Other than searching for the lost relic of the Collective, you never forget your main objective. Your mission here is to gain a firm hold of this area and expand outside. So far, your empire is holding well enough. But you do know that this is because the larger empires are not bothered with you yet. When your empire begins to grow bigger and stronger, they might feel threatened. It will be a totally different story by then.

Hence, you are always up-to-date with your military condition and always seek to strengthen your fleet with a steady supply of new ships. Now, as you consult with Overlord Jesse, he informs you that the stock of Terran Metal is running low. The production of the new ships might come to a halt if a new supply of Terran Metal is not coming yet.

The production of the new ships continues without interruption. The newly-constructed ships are sent off directly to the border of your empire to help increase your defence. Reviewing the current condition of your empire, you are well-prepared to face any trouble.

Background
With impatience, you go into the underground vault which is now your new archive. Overlord Lahan has finally sent word that a discovery is made. You are not amused by the amount of time they have taken to find the first clue. However, you will give them a chance to explain themselves. If it is unsatisfactory, you can always sever their links and replace them later with other more efficient and willing workers.

“Overmind, as we search through all the records that we can get our hands on, it appears that most of the Collective’s history is either missing or destroyed. The oldest record is dated back to a few centuries ago when our predecessors were invading this galaxy. Our speculation is that constant warring with other races has destroyed many of the important records of our history. Nevertheless, we found this record among the older documentations. One of the Overminds who first came into this galaxy has discovered a ruin which bears markings of the Collective.”

Overlord Lahan activates an old viewing machine and some blurry images appear on the screen. You are watching the record silently. When the ruin is finally shown, your eyes widen. Even though the building is extremely old and the design is slightly different, there is no doubt that it is a Collective structure. It is built to be operate like a mobile base, as the Collective will move from time to time. Unlike other races, the Collective never stay in the same place for long for they need to find new bodies for assimilation.

“Yes, it has the hallmarks of a Collective building. According to the record, the ruin has never been investigated for the war broke out not long after. This might be the source of the rumor that the Collective originated from this galaxy. However, we need more time to find out the location of this structure, Overmind.”

You are fascinated by the discovery. Overlord Lahan discloses that they have found a blueprint of a machine which might help increase the efficiency for growing organic food. After your engineers go through it, they inform you that in order to mass produce this machinery, they will need a considerable amount of Composite.

Once the composite has been gathered, your engineers set to work at once. After a week, the prototype of the machine has been completed and sent for testing. Amazingly, the production of food increased significantly. You are truly amazed by the technology.

Then, the rest of the composite is used to reproduce this machine and used it in every planet in your empire. Soon, the production of food in your empire increases. As a precaution, you build more food storage facilities to store the growing amount of food.

Background
Since the discovery, you have been following the progress of the achievers closely. You are hoping that the location of the ruin can be quickly be found. You can almost sense the old structure is beckoning for you to come. As the Agriculture of your empire increases, the food production also increases. The amount of raw materials in the storage also increases. By using the latest technology created by the Collective, the raw materials can be converted into a project to increase the production of food. However, due to some limitations, each empire can only have one project.

Following the instruction given by the Board of Overminds, you use the gathered Raw Materials and start converting them. After a few failed attempts, you have finally been able to create the project. It is an old and traditional way to improve productivity temporarily, but very effective.

With this addition to your empire, you have moved forward one step. You know that soon your empire will be strong enough to hold your own.

Background
The Board of Overminds are pleased with you progress. You have been holding well on your own so far. A few other Collective empires similar to yours have already fallen. Despite being attacked by other empires, you have stood firm. The Board of Overminds would like to test the strength of your military. They have identified a smaller empire nearby which has a formidable force. This empire might pose a threat to your empire should it grow any stronger. They would like you to personally lead a fleet to attack and destroy this empire.

Even though you loathe leaving your empire at the moment, you have to obey the orders. As the old Collective saying goes, “Every command is to be obeyed. To question is to seek destruction.” The strength of Collective community as a whole depends on being united. This is the reason they are able to survive while other aliens especially Terran always wage wars against each other.

You proceed to get ready a fleet of sufficient size and prepare yourself for war.

Mission 14 : Invasion  
Once you reach the border of the small empire specified by the Board of Collective, a fleet of ships materializes in front of your fleet. Without hesitation, you engage them in battle. As soon as the first shot is fired, the battle is joined.

Both sides fought ferociously. No quarter is given and every shot is replied with another shot. Soon, the tide of battle begins to change and you are on the winning side. Without mercy you crush the remaining forces and journey on to the heart of this empire.

Background

You are surprised to find these aliens looking fearful as you approach. They look feeble and weak. Nevertheless, you have orders to destroy them all. You are about to order your soldiers to take them down when the leader of this aliens comes forward and prostrates himself before you. Calling you the mighty Gordo, he begs for mercy. You are puzzled and feel a distant pulling within you when you hear the word �Gordo�. But before you are able to react, the whole community fall face down before you.

There is nothing remotely called compassion in Collective, but you are reluctant to kill all of them. After all, they are organic beings and they can be assimilated to be a part of your army. Smiling what can only be called a wicked smile, you order your soldiers to round all of them up and send them into your ships. The rest go around searching for anything that is useful.

You are pleased with your own achievement. When the leader of the aliens passes before you, you can see wisdom in his eyes. He is must be an old but very wise leader. After all, he has just saved his people�s lives and made a wise decision in a very short time. You decide that he will be a fine Overlord. Once back in your own headquarters, you instruct your soldiers to prepare the prisoners for assimilation.

After a few days, all the prisoners have been brain-washed and assimilated. The leader of the small empire has been elected to be your Overlord and you name him Udell. In many ways he has proven himself useful and you never regret with your choice.

Background
Transmission received from Board of Overminds:

We are not pleased with your deed. You were ordered to destroy all the aliens, but you defied orders and instead assimilated them all. Now, DESTROY them all. They will be a taint to our Collective race. They are an abomination. We are not PLEASED! We hope that the next time we check on your progress, all these aliens are wiped from the face of the universe.

You are fuming when this transmission ends. What have you done wrong by including extra cyborgs to your population? Nevertheless, you do not wish to invoke their anger. With reluctance you sever the links of all the aliens from your mind. They drop dead where they stand when the link is broken. However, there is one link that remains intact; the link with Overlord Udell, the former leader of these aliens. He has proven himself to be an efficient administrator and gifted in many ways. Your heart is heavy when finally all the aliens are dead.

You turn your mind from the horrible deed and focus on decoding the infrastructure upgrade. Trying to push the thoughts out of your mind, you divert your attention upon the difficult coding before you.

You try to divert your attention but to no avail. No matter what you do or what you try to concentrate on, sooner or later an image of your dead people appears in your mind. You do now understand why. Your heart is heavy and there is a feeling of guilt gnawing at you. You feel as if they have died because of your fault. You never want your underlings to suffer.

Your underlings share your sorrow through the mental link. Together, they gather a sum of money and present to you as a sign of their loyalty to you. Without words your Overlords try to comfort you.

Background
Overlord Udell seems to sense your grief. He approaches you but remain silent. When you finally notice him, you look at his expressionless face. You know that he is aware of what happened, for not all of his memories are erased. His wisdom came from years of experience leading his people and you fear that if his memories are erased, he will lose his wisdom as well. Nevertheless, you take the appropriate action to ensure that he is absolutely loyal to you. Somehow, you dare not face him for by your hand, you have killed all his people.

Out of the blue, a voice speaks in your mind. �My lord Overmind, you are the mind of us all. Do not grief, for your people will grief with you. Do not feel guilty, for your people will share the guilt. You are merely obeying orders, as we do yours. Be rest assured that I know it is necessary. Nevertheless, I will forever be loyal to you for you have shown mercy.�

�Overlord Udell, I do not understand why they demand such cruel things. After all, you are MY underlings. They have no right. I have already carried out their orders.�

�Oh, my lord Overmind, umm�may be they want to eliminate us because we hold a secret about Collective.�

�Ah, now I remember. When you see me, you called me Gordo. Who is Gordo and why did you call me thus?�

�My lord, if you really wish to know the answer, you have to pass a test. And in order to pass the test, you will need me to guide you.�

Then, he writes down some instructions on the construction of a special transport ship. According to him, you will have to pass through a highly dangerous area due to the nano contamination. The nano-sized particles can penetrate through almost anything and the body of those infected will rot rapidly. This special ship is especially designed to protect against these nano contamination.

Mission 17 : Secret and Trial      (BONUS: +1 URANIA system with 10,000 planets!)
When the transport ship has been completed, you and Overlord Udell together with a few soldiers secretly board the ship and return to Udell's homeworld under the cover of a fleet of supply transports. When you have successfully reached the former headquarters of Overlord Udell, your ship detaches from the fleet of transports and continues on its own.

Overlord Udell directs you to a single planet that is somehow out of place in a more remote area of the system. As it seems as if your ship is going to crash against the planet, suddenly a rift appears your ship is wrapped to an unknown system. With a smile, Udell assures you that there is no danger in this area other than the contamination.

Expertly he guides you through the space debris that is littered everywhere. There are even wreckage of ships that are of such alien build that you do not recognize their origins. Then, Udell tells you to land in a planet with a black giant that can be clearly seen from the space.

He explains to you that the secret is hidden among these planets, but it is unsafe to conduct the searches here. This structure is built to protect this system from previous invasions by other Collective to destroy the secret. For some reasons Udell believes that you are different from other Collective and you should learn of the truth about the Collective.

Within the structure, a long panel of controls dominates the center of the room. Without any doubt, Udell works with the controls. When he is done hours later, a tremendous earthquake shakes the whole structure. Just as you think that the structure will break apart, the vibration stops. Overlord Udell approaches you and says, "My lord Overmind, this Urania system is now yours."

Missions: Act 3  (Act 3: Unravel the mystery)

You are surprised to see you have returned to your own empire. When you look
around, this is indeed the border of the Orion system which you have captured
from Udell. However, as you observe the planets around you that are teemed with
greens, you know that it is real. Overlord Udell has somehow managed to bring
the whole system from a space which he calls an alternate universe back to the
real universe.
He reveals to you that according to legend, there is a race in the universe
that is half-mechanical and half-organic. They are actually a native race to
this galaxy called Gordo. For some reason, the race splits into two clans and
they try to eliminate each other. Finally, when one side begins to lose, they
alter their bodies and merge their minds together with their leader. With this
transformation, they become very strong and soon, they killed every one from
the other clan.
However, what happened to them next and why they were driven from this galaxy
is unknown to Udell. He believes that the secret is hidden within this system
and you have to unlock it to obtain the answer.

Mission 1 : Cleaning nano contamination  

Under the critical supervision on Overlord Udell, the ships responsible for the
cleaning are produced exactly as he details them to be. However, the core which
will be responsible for clearing the nano contamination has not been completed
yet. There is still an essential process need to be taken before the ships are
complete.
You have received the report that some of your transport ships have gone into
the lost system unaware of the danger. So far, one of the transport ships have
come out of it safely, bringing with it a wealth of minerals.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 2  

Background
Most of the ships that are built to clear the nano contamination are ready.
They are awaiting implantation of the special crystal core so that the nano-
cleaning function on the ships can be activated. With the special coating on
the hull of the ship enabled, they fear not being contaminated.
In order to make the special crystal core, a specific element that is only
found in Strafez Organism needs to be extracted and fused with Red Crystal.
Then, with some manipulation, it will generate a special energy which can
detect nano contamination. You have already received news that some of your
underlings who went through the lost system without the special coating have
already come into contact with the contamination. Hence, you must act quickly.

Mission 2 : Implanting core

One by one the ships with the implanted core gather and move out in small
groups. You have already posted some ships at the border of the system to
prevent other unsuspecting ships blundering into the system while the clearing
work is going on. Out of the 24 transport ships which entered the lost system
earlier, only 11 of them survived. The rest are contaminated and died within
the hour.
Once the nano contamination has been cleared, you want to conduct the search
immediately. You do not want to risk discovery by lingering any longer. You
have to find out the truth fast and if needed, destroy any evidence left in the
system.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 3  

Background
With the nano contamination cleared, your underlings can conduct the search
immediately. According to Overlord Udell, there should be a ruin or something
which hides the secret that you are looking for. However, when you conduct a
scan through the whole system, nothing unusual is detected. Hence, you have to
conduct a manual search to find this old ruin. It might take days or months to
uncover the ruin. If the ruin is underground, it might take even longer.
However, there is nothing that you can do.
Considering the need, you order a new fleet of ships with scanners to be built
to conduct the search. You cannot spare your current fleet for searching
because the new system might draw the attention of nearby empires to you. You
must prepare to defend yourself should any invasion or any ambitious empire
decides to take advantage of you.

Overlord Udell informs you that the new r.Monitor ships have advance scanners
equipped in them. However, you wish to speed up the searching process so you

You begin to realize that the bigger your empire becomes, the more dangerous it
is, for other empires will begin to take notice of you. Some of the stronger
empires like to destroy those trying to build up to prevent them from
challenging their powers in later stages. Hence, you have to be careful.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 4  

Background
Aboard the flagship, you lead the expedition to search for the ruin. It has
been days and yet there is no sign of any buildings in any of the planets. You
have been searching from one corner of the system to another corner and there
is nothing to be found. All you have found is the growing farm and commercial
area that your population is building. You are getting frustrated by the
fruitless search. Overlord Udell assures you that the ruin is there, but it
might be buried underground after all these years.
You are on the verge of giving up when the radar picked up a very faint signal.
Your ship has just reached the border of the system. Without wasting a moment,
you gather all the available ships and start to look for this signal. Finally,
you are able to locate the source of the signal; a barren planet that is
unremarkable. You make a full circle around the planet but discover nothing on
the surface. In order to find the ruin, you have to dig and uncover it.

Mission 4 : Hidden signal 
BONUS: You received +5 Planetary Core Capsule!

After days of searching and locating the exact area on the barren planet, you
command your underlings to start the excavation at once. Using advanced
machineries, a large area is excavated within a day. A black rooftop for a
structure has already been uncovered. Overlord Udell is positive that this is
the structure that contains the Collective’s secret. Your underlings should be
able to uncover the whole structure in a few days’ time.
As you look upon the rooftop of the structure, you have a haunting sense that
you have seen it somewhere before. Nevertheless, you cannot put your finger on
it. After musing over it for a couple of times, you give in and move on to
supervising the excavation. You know that you cannot rest until the day this
old building has been completely unearth.
Scattered around the ruins are some broken artifacts. Some of them are still
functional and among them are some special Planetary Core!

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 5
 
Background
As you gaze upon the black looming structure that is being unearthed, something
tickled your mind. However, every time you try to catch hold of it, it eludes
your grasp. You let it go and concentrate on the work before you. You know that
it will come to you in time. The mechanical part of your brain will quickly
catch up with it and analyze before you know it.
Once the excavation is done, you will need to hire specialists to conduct
research on the building to determine the age and nature of the building and
any artifacts that you might find inside. From the outlook of the building, you
can see that it is ancient. It may have even existed before the coming of the
Collective centuries ago. Is what Overmind Kain tells you that Collective once
originated from this galaxy true? There is only one way to find out.

Mission 5 : Unearthing the ruin 
BONUS: You received +10 Regalos!

While you are personally overseeing the unearthing of the ruin, you often
update yourself with the happenings in your empire. Soon, you find yourself
occupied more and more with the ruins. You have often spent hours in the
excavation site, looking on as your underlings hard at work.
While you are taking a walk behind the black structure, you suddenly kicked a
small black artifact. When you examine the artifact, you realize that it is a
Regalo! Looking around the site, you find a few more Regalos. It seems that
this area is rich with Unique artifacts. Pleased with the findings, you grab
all of them and return to your room.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 6
 
Background
You receive a transmission from your headquarters:
Report from Overlord Lahan: We have found some descriptions of the building
which might be of interest to you. It is a tall, black building that is made
with a special black crystal. The door is twice the height of a Collective and
ten Collective can enter it side-by-side with room to spare. Inside the
building, there are inscriptions that look suspiciously like ours.
Unfortunately, there is no record of the location for the structure. It is as
if it has disappeared from the world all of a sudden.
Suddenly, you mind finally catches up on what has been playing in your mind of
late. The building that you are uncovering right now has all the features of
the Collective! Old though it might be, you can still see the faint markings
and design that is the hallmark of Collective’s buildings. You cannot believe
your luck.

You hasten the progress of unearthing the ruin. The specialists are readied and
they have already started to make some initial investigation in the area. They
have requested for some specific equipment to be built to assist them in their
study.

Mission 6 : Studying the ruin 
BONUS: +20,000 planets in your innermost system!

With the minerals they requested fulfilled, quickly they set up their equipment
and get ready for analysis. You look on with curiousity as they conduct tests
on the soils and some materials taken from the site of the building. According
to the head of the specialists, they are trying to determine the age of the
building. They are only taking the soil and some life forms that grew on the
wall of the ruins for an initial observation. To determine the true timeframe,
they have to take other materials directly from inside the building itself.
Your patrol ships have discovered a small cluster at the outskirts of your
border that are under attack by another empire. After beating the attackers
back, your patrol assimilates the planets and bring them into your empire.

MissionsAct 3 > Mission 7  

Background
The structure has finally been unearthed. Despite several large holes and a fallen roof, the building is still standing firm. However, before you are able to step into the building, you have been called back to your own empire. Something occurred there that requires your immediate attention. The message is obscure and there is no information of what emergency is. Nevertheless, you have stayed away from your headquarters for too long.

As you are boarding the transport ship, you give instructions to the overlord whom you assigned to overlook the whole project. You want them to continue to find out what is hidden in the building regardless of what happens. You might be away for days or weeks but you want a regular update on the findings here. They just need to request for anything that they might need.

Once back to your own empire, you are surprised to be greeted by three Overminds sent from the Board of Overminds. According to them, they are sent by the Board of Overminds to check up on your progress upon your mission. First of all, they would like to test your ability to maintain a good income.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 8 
Background
The three Overminds make a close inspection on all your storage facilities.
They are acting as if they are looking for any flaw or weakness. However, you
are suspicious of their motives. Why do they come to make inspection at this
time? There wasn't any news of inspection of your progress earlier.
Nevertheless, you put on your guard and are careful to oversee their every
demand. After all, you have been managing your empire well and make sure that
your underlings lacked nothing.

Next, they move on to your military department. After overseeing the training
of the new recruits for a while, they move on to check your weapon store. You
have no idea who these Overminds are as you have never seen them before. As you
observe them who look as if taking down every detail in their mind, they ask
you to bring them to the shipyard. They would like to see your ship production
ability.

Mission 8 : Second Test 
After planning a fleet of respectable size, you order your shipyards to start
the production immediately. Almost everyday the three Overlords go to different
shipyards to make inspection on the production of the ships. During one of the
inspections, you glimpse one of the Overminds seems to have a satisfying smile
which vanish an instant later. You have an uneasy feeling but you shrug it off.
When the fleet has been completed, they commend you on the fast production and
it has met the expectation wanted by the Board of Overminds. You almost feel
that they are sneering but such emotions are considered inferior by Collective.
They award you with +5 Big Time Capsules as rewards!

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 9 
Background
The three Overminds are taking stock of every resource and mineral in your
empire. They are as if measuring the strength of your empire, not checking how
your empire is faring. So far, they are only observing and conferring between
themselves but never disclose anything to you. Nevertheless, you remain silent
and keep the thoughts to yourself. Ever since Overlord Udell disclosed that the
Board of Overminds orders you to kill his empire to hide a secret, you have
started to question what is it that they are trying to hide.

Finally, just as you have expected, they ask to test the strength of your
fleet. Slowly, you make preparation while awaiting their briefings. However,
when you are done and ready to move out, there are still no briefings on your
mission. When you finally approach them and ask what you are going to do, they
tell you to launch your fleet with an expression which can only be described as
evil. They say that when you go out there, the target will be apparent.

Mission 9 : Final test 
Pushing out everything else from your mind, you spread out your fleet in
defensive formation while you have a lookout for your target. No matter what
they are having in mind, once you are out in the space, you have to be careful.
There is no guarantee what you will meet in the space. There are asteroids and
some unidentified life forms that often appear out of nowhere.

Suddenly, the communication panel beeps. The three Overminds have finally given
you the coordinates and their orders are simple, destroy everything there. Once
your fleet is approaching the given coordinates, you send some ‘trail-breakers’
ahead to check out what is there while you change the formation. All of a
sudden, there are explosions up ahead and you lose contact with the ships that
you sent up there.

Without hesitation, you lead your fleet out. You have ordered them to turn back
if they detect anything unusual in their scanners. You have no idea what has
happened but you guess that somehow your ships have been ambushed. When your
ships passed through the last planet to where your previous ships have gone, a
sudden shock coursed through your flagship. The engine of your ship suddenly
goes out. You see a gigantic-sized ship approaching before blackness rises up
to engulf you.

When you fall into unconsciousness, the link with your underlings weaken but
you managed to hold on to the link. The loyalty of your population decreased by
-200 in all your systems!

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 10 
Background
When you finally regain consciousness, you feel yourself being carried
somewhere but you cannot focus your mind. Your head is swimming with images
which you do not recognize. However, one image stands out among the rest and
that is the image of your fully organic body reflected from a mirror. You shake
your head to clear the dizziness and you realize that you are being carried by
two Collectives unknown to you. You try to struggle, but you cannot even lift a
finger. Calming yourself, you try to establish a link with your underlings. To
your horror, your mind hits a blank wall every time you try to contact your
underlings.

Suddenly, you realize where you are. You must have been carried into the
gigantic ship which you have seen before you passed out. You have heard of
rumors for such a ship but you have never seen it yourself. As the two
Collectives drop you in a cell, you confirm that the rumors are true. This is a
ship used to capture any Collective which is suspected of having treasonous
thoughts. You are enraged. They treated you as a traitor while all along you
have been working for the good of the Collective!

For hours you sit in the cell trying to establish a link with your underlings
but to no avail. You plan and scheme to escape but it seems futile. When you
are on the brink of giving up, the gigantic ship suddenly shakes. Alarm rings
through the whole ship and you can hear the sound of battles. You move nearer
to the cell door hoping for a chance to escape but there is no Collective
coming through the prison area. All of a sudden, a loud explosion rings and
there is a big hole in the wall behind you. With a smile, Overlord Udell
reaches out his hand and quickly brings you over to the small cruiser.

Swiftly, the ship moves away from the battle. When you take note of the
surrounding, you realize that you are moving to the Urania system. They must
want to investigate the lost system before executing you. Now that they have
discovered this system, you must escape and hide. The aspect of abandoning your
whole empire pains you. Once again Overlord Udell surprises you. He reveals
that the machine which hides the Urania system might be able to warp your whole
empire to a different place. However, you must have tremendous energy to
activate that function.

Mission 10 : Escape 

You are surprised to find that the link with your underlings is still firmly established. There must be something within the hull of the gigantic ship that blocked your contact. The fact that your underlings are still alive shows that the link has not been severed. According to other Overlords, when you became unconscious, you cried out through the link and then they know it is time to bring your plan to fore. You have been suppressing the food and ship production in order to mislead the three Overminds. You also ordered more than half of your main fleet to go into hiding.

Once your cry reached your Overlords, they brought out your whole fleet and enforced them with new ships before coming after you. With the use of some artifacts recovered from the ruins, they managed to hide the ships and ambushed the gigantic ship. You feel proud of your underlings and are determined to bring them to safety.

Then, Overlord Udell informs you that all the crystals are ready and the energy has already been connected to the machine. Now, it only awaits your order. You wave Overlord Udell aside and tell him that you will activate the machine yourself. Taking a long last look at the space, you press the button.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 11 

Background

Suddenly, the planet shakes as if it is tearing apart. You hold on to the machine as you try to ask Overlord Udell what is happening. He looks just as confused. Then, you try to push the button again to deactivate the machine but you are thrown back by a mighty heave of the land. Desperately, you try to stand up but to no avail. Just as suddenly as it started, the tremor stops. When you venture out from the building, you can see a totally different space.

Your empire has been successfully transported to another part of the galaxy. You have no idea where your current location is. The structure of your system has also changed a little. Without wasting any time, you board your flagship and head towards the headquarters. You must take stock of any damage and arrange your defenses fast. Other empires might notice of your sudden appearance and take the advantage while you are still in confusion.

Mission 11 : Adjusting your empire 

After years of managing your empire, you have learnt that money is very useful at times like this. You discover that some races like Terran prefer to accept bribes than fighting. Aspha Miners on the other hand prefer to be left alone. Nevertheless, you use the credits to repair the various damages as a result of transferring your whole empire.

Many buildings have fallen down and some of the defensive systems are broken. However, you somehow managed to rebuild your empire while fending off attacks. The tremor earlier has revealed an ancient vault and a whole lot of minerals are discovered.

Missions: Act 3 > Mission 12 

Background

Your defenses are finally in place. Once the nearby empires have gotten a measure of your strength, they give you a wide berth for you have proven to them that you are able to hold your own. After all, they are only afraid for the safety of their own empires.

After your empire has moved to this part of the galaxy, you have not the time to manage it and the economy is nearly in shambles. You need to rearrange the hierarchy and responsibility of each Overlord. It is hard and tedious work. However, when everything has returned to a normal order, you can finally turn your mind to the recent happenings.

Like a sudden blow, the fact that you are no longer within the Collective community hits you. You have been cut off from the place where you are made and they have most probably declared you as traitor. From now onwards, you are on your own and there is no longer anyone to support you. Steeling yourself, you swear that you will stand firm and you will survive.

Mission 12 : On your own 

With the additional planets, the income of your empire improves even more. You are slowly gaining a firm foothold in this part of the galaxy and your neighbours respect you for your strength. You realize that you are able to stand on your own feet. There is no need to depend on the Board of Overminds. They are the ones who have betrayed you after all.

Looking from face to face, you are glad that your Overlords are ever loyal to you. They have been with you on your ups and downs. They have also proven themselves to be efficient leaders despite their limited freedom in thought. Your happiness spread through the link to your underlings and they share your pride.

Missions:  Act 3 > Mission 13 

Background

Once the income flow is back on track, you start to make a review of the damage throughout your empire. You receive a mental note from the infrastructure research department that they have discovered damage in the decoding machine. However, they cannot detect what is the source of the problem. They request for your immediate attention for all the decoding process has come to halt.

When you arrive at the research facility, you and a few engineers that you brought along inspected the machine. After hours of testing, even the engineers cannot fix the machine. It seems to have broken down for no reason. Suddenly, you see an earring which you remember one of the three Overminds wore half-hidden behind the machine. Then, the engineers confirmed that the machine cannot be fixed and have to replace with a new one. The good news is that they can transfer all the data to the new machine safely. Silently cursing the day when the three Overminds stepped onto your land, you return to your office.

Mission 13 : Broken 

Your engineers build a new decoding machine from scratch with the Terran Metal. You are surprised with the short time they used to construct the new machinery. When the time to transfer the data came, you observed and silently hoped that everything will be alright. For if not, all your efforts in improving the infrastructure will come to naught.

You are almost relieved when the data transfer has been successful. During the data transfer, you scientists were able to detect a hidden pattern in the coding of the infrastructure blueprints and were able to immediately decode another three levels of Agriculture infrastructure immediately.

Background
Ever since you have come to this new section of the galaxy, you have been ceaselessly attacked. You have been losing as much as you have been winning. Finally your scientists have come up with a research formula which can help you boost up your defense. It will equip additional planetary defense weapons on your planets. However, the blueprint needs to be decoded and analyzed before the project is ready. The cost will be high and you will need credits in order to activate the project.

Nevertheless, it is a good project and the boost in defense will surely give you an advantage. You hope that with this addition, you can defend your systems more effectively. Without hesitation you give approval to your scientist and you are willing to provide them anything that they need.

Mission 14 : Defense Technology 

After months of researching the technology, your scientists have finally been able to decode the blueprints. However, to your dismay, the project has been set to auto set-up once your empire reached certain requirements. Unfortunately, it is hard for you at the moment to meet the empire level required.

Nevertheless, you can still activate the lower System Defense project to improve your defense. You find this part of the galaxy to be more challenging than the previous. The empires here are much stronger and better. A raiding squad has just returned and bring some money and minerals with them.

Background

With your place in this region are getting firmer by the day, you can focus more on studying the ruins for you have neglected them totally ever since your capture. You have been busy repairing the damages done and also face new challenges in this region. Nevertheless, before you turn your attention to the ruin, you decide to build up a considerable-sized fleet to defend your empire.

After the defenses are firmly in place, you can spend the rest of your time unraveling the mysteries that has almost cost your life. You are even more determined to learn the secret that the Board of Overminds is willing to kill you for. Now, you have all the time in the world to search.

Mission 15 : Standing Firm 

Now, the mysteries of the Collective's past awaits you. You almost feel an excitement course through your mind as you journey onto the Urania system. You must discover that is the secret that the Board of Overminds is trying to hide.

As your ship touches down on the landing pad, you quickly dismount and move towards the black structure. You have been called back to your base before you have the chance to venture into this ruin. Your underlings salute as you pass by. You tell them to continue their work as your move on to the Research Facility.

The chief specialist awaits you and proceeds to explain their findings to you. They have discovered more artifacts within the structure. And within the structure itself are writings and recordings of an ancient race. They are somehow related to the Collective and your specialists believe that they might be the ancestors of the Collective race. However, they need more time to do translation as the language is nothing like what they have encountered before.
